Cold and dry conditions expected

After a fairly long recess, it will be back to rallying action from 07h00 on Friday as teams go into the fourth round of the 2013 South African National Rally Championships.

Although it has rained in Port Elizabeth, clearer yet cold conditions are expected for the two-day Volkswagen Rally.

"We had a quick shakedown in the Basil Read Ford today, and I am comfortable that we have done the necessary preparation," said multiple former national rally champion Jan Habig on Thursday.

"We are looking forward to the rally," he continued. "The new stages may be a bit of a challenge as the roads were recently graded, but it adds a new dimension to the event."
